Many don’t realize just how incredible pecans are in savory dishes, and this fall season is the perfect time to try out a few new pecan based appetizers. The appetizers can be as simple or as intricate as you’d like, and we want to offer a few easy options to start out with using pecan halves and pecan pieces.

1. Pecan Cheese Ball – This is a simple appetizer that can be whipped up in minutes with a bit of softened cream cheese, and tastes great on crackers or pretzels. If you’re expecting company and you don’t want to spend a whole lot of time or prep on an appetizer, this one is perfect! First, take 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and place it into a bowl. Add chopped scallions, a quarter cup of finely chopped red pepper, 2 tablespoons of diced jalapeño, a half teaspoon of Worcestershire, a quarter teaspoon of garlic powder, 2 and a half teaspoons of ranch seasoning, and a half cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the cream cheese and fold until combined.
